Ailana Agbayani

Ailana Agbayani is a 5-foot-4 professional softball infielder from Mililani, Hawai’i. She was acquired by the Chicago Bandits in the third round of the 2026 AUSL College Draft following a collegiate career at BYU and Oklahoma.

Personal Life

Background: Has a dog named Ekahi. Lists her father and Oklahoma head softball coach Patty Gasso among the people who have made a difference in her life. One of her softball idols is Tiare Jennings. Her proudest accomplishment is winning the Rawlings Gold Glove award in 2025. Chose to wear No. 50 because her father wore the number during his career.

Hobbies: Enjoys shopping, Pilates, drinking coffee, and reading. Knows how to juggle. Lists The Greatest Showman as her favorite movie.

Education: Majored in multidisciplinary studies at Oklahoma with an emphasis on sociology.

Family: Daughter of Benny and Niela Agbayani. Her father played five seasons in Major League Baseball as an outfielder for the New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Boston Red Sox. Sister, Aleia, played softball at BYU and California. Brother, Bruin, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the sixth round of the 2025 MLB Draft.

Athletes Unlimited Softball League (2026-)

2026 AUSL Postseason (Chicago Bandits): Agbayani started in all three of the Bandits' postseason games. Across those games, she went 2-for-7 with a run scored and a run batted in. She also helped Chicago defeat Portland in the Play-In Game, going 2-for-4 in that contest.

2026 AUSL Regular Season (Chicago Bandits): During her rookie season, Agbayani started in all 25 games for the Bandits. She finished the season ranked ninth in the AUSL with a .319 batting average and tallied 22 hits, which placed her 10th in the league. She led all rookies in both batting average and hits. Agbayani also collected a league-high three sacrifice bunts and tied for fourth in the league with four stolen bases. She recorded six multi-hit performances over the course of her rookie season. On June 28, she hit her first professional home run in a game at Oklahoma City, finishing 2-for-3 that day. On July 6, she went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in against Texas. On July 16, she recorded two hits and scored two runs against Carolina.

College Experience: BYU & Oklahoma

Career Statistics: Two-year letter winner at Oklahoma after playing at BYU as a freshman and sophomore. Earned a starting assignment in 225-of-227 career games. Accrued a .359 career batting average with 18 home runs and 124 RBIs. Totaled 229 career hits, including 26 doubles and five triples.

Senior Year (Oklahoma): Fashioned a .362 average with seven home runs and 34 RBIs.

Junior Year (2025, Oklahoma): Started all 61 games. Boasted a .314 average with 49 hits, including eight doubles, one triple, and four home runs. Drove in 35 runs while scoring 38 times.

Sophomore Year (BYU): Hit .424 with 70 hits and 58 runs scored. Made 15 appearances in the circle, logging a 5-2 record with 17 strikeouts.

Freshman Year (2023, BYU): Batted .337 with 59 hits, four doubles, four triples, and two home runs, leading the Cougars with 12 stolen bases. Saw action in 17 games as a pitcher, tallying 26 strikeouts over 31.2 innings with a 5-3 record and a 2.43 ERA.

All-Region: Three-time NFCA All-Region selection, including Second-Team notice as a sophomore.

Conference Honors: 2023 West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year. First-Team All-WCC as a freshman and First-Team All-Big 12 as a sophomore. Member of the 2025 SEC All-Defensive Team.

High School Honors: 2021 Hawai’i Gatorade Player of the Year award.
