The Blaze are adding a proven winner to the bullpen with the signing of Brooke McCubbin, a standout right-hander from Clemson who will join the team for the start of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League season.

McCubbin finished the 2025 season with an 18-6 record, a 2.46 ERA, and five saves across 40 appearances and 18 starts. She threw 142 innings and struck out 84. Her performance helped Clemson win its first ACC Championship in program history.

In the conference tournament, she threw scoreless relief in each of Clemson’s three comeback wins. During the NCAA Clemson Regional, she secured victories against USC Upstate and Northwestern, then added her fifth save of the year against Kentucky.

Her consistent impact earned her All-ACC Third Team and ACC All-Tournament Team honors. McCubbin also picked up national recognition, including Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week and ACC Pitcher of the Week in late April.

Before her breakout 2025 season, McCubbin had already been a steady contributor in Clemson’s rotation and bullpen. In 2024, she appeared in 24 games, posted a 2.83 ERA over 59.1 innings, and struck out 35 batters. She recorded 11 outings without a single walk and limited opponents to just nine extra-base hits.

In 2023, she logged 73.1 innings with a 1.34 ERA and 39 strikeouts. She finished that season with a 5-1 record and two saves, including a complete-game shutout against Jacksonville and a strong showing against Oklahoma in the Norman Super Regional.

McCubbin joins a Blaze pitching staff that includes left-hander Keilani Ricketts and right-handers Aleshia Ocasio, Hope Trautwein-Valdespino, Carley Hoover, Alana Vawter, and Emma Lemley.

With a track record of postseason poise, McCubbin brings depth, experience, and late-game toughness to the Blaze.
