Personal: McCubbin is the daughter of Brian and Hollie McCubbin. A standout athlete from an early age, she was named the 2020 Georgia Gatorade Pitcher of the Year while attending Locust Grove High School. In addition to softball, she also played lacrosse and basketball during her youth. McCubbin credits her pitching coach, Kristin Davenport, as someone who has made a meaningful impact on her development as both a player and a person. Outside of softball, she enjoys spending time with her pets—a dog named Ginger and a gecko named Lizzie.
nullCollege Experience: McCubbin was a four-year letterwinner at Clemson University, where she made 104 appearances in the circle, including 43 starts, from 2022 to 2025. She became one of just two pitchers in Clemson history to appear in 100 or more games and ranks third all-time in the program with 38 career victories. McCubbin also holds the third-highest total in school history with 320.0 innings pitched and ranks fifth on the career earned run average list at 2.25. Over her career, she recorded 189 strikeouts. As a senior in 2025, McCubbin earned Third-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors and played a key role in helping Clemson capture the ACC Tournament championship. She posted an 18-6 record with a 2.46 ERA across 40 appearances, setting career highs with 84 strikeouts and 142.0 innings pitched. On March 22, she delivered a complete-game shutout at Syracuse, striking out a career-best 12 batters. One week later, she threw another complete game against California, allowing just one run on six hits. Earlier in the season, she pitched a career-long 7.1 innings against UCF on February 12. McCubbin was named ACC Pitcher of the Week after scattering three hits over 8.0 innings in a series win against Georgia Tech. She also earned the victory in relief during the ACC Championship Game against Florida State, tossing 4.0 shutout innings to secure a 2-1 triumph. In her junior season, McCubbin made 24 appearances, including 12 starts, and finished the year with a 2.83 ERA over 59.1 innings. She held opposing hitters to just nine extra-base hits and did not issue a walk in her final 11 outings. On April 16, 2024, she recorded a season-high six strikeouts in a shutout win over Winthrop. As a sophomore in 2023, McCubbin appeared in 23 games with seven starts, compiling a 5-1 record and a 1.34 ERA over 73.1 innings. She struck out 39 batters and recorded two saves. On April 5, she threw 6.2 hitless innings against Furman in one of her most dominant outings of the season. During her freshman year, McCubbin saw action in 18 games and earned five victories. She pitched a season-best 5.1 innings against Northwestern and secured her first career save against Mercer on March 9, 2022.
