Korbe Otis

University of Florida '25

Hometown: Littleton, Colorado

Personal: Otis is the daughter of Matt and Jami Otis and has one brother named Cooper. A multi-talented athlete, she was a two-sport standout in high school, competing in both softball and track and field. Otis holds Columbine High School records in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events. In addition to her athletic pursuits, she also competed in soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and golf as a child, and was involved in music as a drummer. She even took part in competitive go-kart racing. Otis has two dogs named Maverick and Millie. She cites her father as someone who has made a meaningful difference in her life and considers Dr. Kirsten Freeman one of her idols, admiring her ability to balance a demanding career with motherhood. One of Otis’s most memorable moments growing up was going on stage with the Zac Brown Band to sing Chicken Fried—an experience that left her starstruck. Otis graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She considers her proudest achievement to be earning First-Team Academic All-America® honors from College Sports Communicators in 2024. In her free time, Otis enjoys watching movies, building Lego sets, and spending time outdoors.

College Experience: Otis was a two-year letter winner at Louisville before transferring to Florida for her junior and senior seasons. Over her collegiate career, Otis appeared in 242 games, making 240 starts, and compiled a .366 batting average. She totaled 258 hits, including 39 doubles and 15 triples, while hitting 30 home runs and driving in 168 runs. Otis also scored 217 runs, drew 150 walks, and stole 49 bases in 70 career attempts. A three-time NFCA All-Region selection, Otis earned two First-Team All-Conference honors during her career. She was the recipient of the 2025 NCAA Division I Softball Elite 90 Award and became the first player in Florida program history to be named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earning the distinction as a senior. Otis played a key role in leading Florida to back-to-back NCAA Women’s College World Series appearances. As a senior, Otis started 63 of 65 games and ranked fifth on the team with a .318 batting average. She recorded 56 hits, including nine doubles, and tallied six home runs and 42 RBIs while scoring 41 runs. Otis registered 15 multi-hit games, including three three-hit performances. She went 3-for-3 with four RBIs against Iowa State on February 23, 2025, and drove in five runs while going 2-for-4 against Arkansas on April 5, 2025. Otis earned NFCA and Softball America First-Team All-America honors as a junior after leading the SEC with a .434 batting average. She also received Second-Team All-America recognition from D1Softball. In her first season at Florida, Otis started all 69 games and led NCAA Division I with 59 walks. She was the only player in the nation that season to record at least 70 hits, 50 RBIs, and 50 walks. She collected 20 multi-hit games and had an 18-game hitting streak from April 4 to May 11, 2025. Otis was named to the SEC All-Tournament Team after going 5-for-7 with six runs scored and two triples. During her two seasons at Louisville, Otis posted a .354 batting average and started all 108 games. She hit 15 home runs and drove in 73 runs for the Cardinals. As a sophomore, she was a Second-Team All-American by both Softball America and D1Softball after leading the team in batting average (.414), runs scored (63), and on-base percentage (.502). She also earned First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honors and stole 23 bases in 24 attempts. Otis led the ACC and ranked fifth nationally with seven triples and reached base safely in 35 consecutive games, setting a new Louisville program record. She also recorded the second-longest hitting streak in school history at 15 games. As a freshman in 2022, Otis started all 52 games and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. She ranked third on the team with a .289 batting average, collecting 48 hits, 31 runs, and six stolen bases. An exceptional student, Otis earned First-Team College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® honors in 2024.
