Four Athletes Unlimited Softball League stars are set to showcase their power at MLBX: Atlanta on Aug. 15. Megan Grant, Bri Ellis, Jordan Woolery and Sydney Romero are set to compete in the pregame Home Run Derby event at Truist Park before the Atlanta Braves host the Miami Marlins.
The on-field competition begins at 5:30 p.m. ET. It features four teams of three competitors, each consisting of a Braves alumnus, one AUSL player and a player from either the University of Georgia or Georgia Tech. A swing-off will follow two Home Run Derby rounds to determine the event champions.
The teams are:
- Team Jones: Andruw Jones, Megan Grant, Will Baker
- Team Jordan: Brian Jordan, Bri Ellis, Jake Hanley
- Team Pillar: Kevin Pillar, Jordan Woolery, Ryan Zuckerman
- Team Culberson: Charlie Culberson, Sydney Romero, Jack Arcamone
The appearance marks the second MLBx event featuring AUSL players this summer. During MLB All-Star Weekend in July, Rachel Garcia, Alyssa Brito, Tiare Jennings and NiJaree Canady represented the league in the inaugural MLBx: All-Star 3-on-3 at Citizens Bank Park. Garcia earned MVP honors as the AUSL quartet delivered standout performances.
