Athletes Unlimited Softball League athletes have been a staple of MLBx events across the country this year, showcasing powerful softball swings in the home run competition. Next, they’ll take their talents international.

Texas Volts two-way player Rachel Garcia and Utah Talons infielder Jordan Woolery will compete in MLBx Mumbai on Oct. 24 in India.

MLBx is a 3-on-3 team-based home run derby. In Mumbai, each team will feature a cricket player, connecting baseball to India’s most popular sport.

Garcia will be on the New York Yankees squad alongside World Series Champion Nick Swisher and Suryakumar Yadav, an Indian cricketer and former captain of the T20 International team. Yadav led India to win the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup and the 2025 Asia Cup. He was part of the national team that won the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup and the 2023 Asia Cup.

This isn’t Garcia’s first time competing in MLBx, and she’s been a standout player in earlier competitions. During MLB’s 2026 All-Star Week, Garcia was named MVP after leading her team to victory in Philadelphia.

Woolery is also a former MLBx winner, hoisting the trophy with Team Kevin Pillar in Atlanta in August. For Mumbai, she’ll be paired with two-time Silver Slugger Award winner Adrián González and cricket player Jitesh Sharma on the Los Angeles Dodgers squad. Sharma plays domestic cricket for Vidarbha and international cricket for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. He was also part of the Indian team that won the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup and won gold at the 2022 Asian Games.

Teams earn points for home runs, defensive catches, and bonus targets, with a five-swing “Hot Streak” that doubles the potential for points. This is the second time MLBx has crossed the pond; in 2022, it hosted an event in London at Crystal Palace Park.
