A bases-clearing triple from Sami Williams in the fourth inning not only secured 40 inning-win points for Team Ricketts, but also locked in the game victory over Team Brown on Sunday night at Parkway Bank Sports Complex.

Keilani Ricketts and her squad came into the game without any points in the win column yet in the second series of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League All-Star Cup, but made up ground with the 4-2 triumph. All four runs came in the fourth inning; Williams was driven in by a double to the left-center field gap by Amari Harper.

Work in the circle was handled by committee. Rachel Garcia got the start and recorded four strikeouts in her four innings of work and gave up one earned run. Ricketts called her own number for two innings, and then Karlyn Pickens entered in the seventh to close it out.

Williams earned MVP 1 and Garcia picked up the nod for MVP 2.

Team Brown didn’t walk away empty-handed, though; Reese Atwood collected an RBI double in the first inning (+10 inning-win points), and Megan Grant hit a monster home run in the sixth to give the team 20 win points on the outing. The scoreboard-clearing blast, along with some impressive glovework at first base, earned her MVP 3 honors.
