Ciara Briggs is a 5-foot-5 professional softball outfielder from Yorba Linda, California. She was acquired via trade with the Blaze on June 22, 2025, following a collegiate career at LSU.

Personal Life

Family: Daughter of Ken and Roseann Briggs. Father played baseball at Chapman University and professionally; mother played softball and volleyball at Golden West Junior College.

Background: Serving as a graduate assistant softball coach at LSU during the 2025 season.

Hobbies: Enjoys going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Has two dogs named Idalia and Rue.

Professional Experience

AUSL (2025)

2025 AUSL All-Star Cup: Accumulated 600 leaderboard points, including 500 win points and 100 stat points. Tied for sixth in the league with a .333 batting average. Hit safely in five of her final seven games.

2025 AUSL Regular Season: Appeared in 24 games with 19 starts while splitting time with the Blaze and the Volts. Compiled a .320 batting average with 16 hits and nine walks. Involved in the first trade in AUSL history when she was dealt to the Volts in exchange for McKenzie Clark on June 22. Earned starting assignment in all 14 contests with the Volts after being traded, authoring a .385 batting average with 15 hits and six RBIs.

International Experience (2024)

Team USA: Competed with Team USA during the 2024 Japan All-Star Series. Tallied one hit in six at-bats with a walk during the three-game set.

College Experience: LSU (2019–2024)

Briggs was a five-year letter winner at LSU who appeared in 258 career games from 2019-24. Ranks 10th in program history with 256 career starts.

Career Statistics: Fashioned a .350 career batting average with 10 home runs and 104 runs batted in. Stands fourth on LSU’s career list with 286 hits, including 29 doubles and nine triples.

Defensive Prowess: First player in NCAA Division I softball history to win back-to-back Rawlings Gold Glove awards, doing so in 2022 and 2023. Finished career with a .987 fielding percentage after compiling 369 putouts, 18 assists, and just five errors.

Senior Year (2024): Starter in all 61 games in center field, leading the Tigers with 68 hits, 44 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases. Contributed a .333 batting average and a .412 slugging percentage.

All-Region: Three-time NFCA All-South Region selection.

All-Conference: Collected three All-SEC certificates, including First-Team distinction as a fifth-year senior. Pair of SEC All-Defensive Team citations.
